Bridget Krause

Bridget Krause graduated from Marquette Law School in May 2000 and began working at the Milwaukee Public Defender’s Office, Trial Division, in June 2000. Bridget briefly left the Public Defender’s Office for two years to work in private criminal defense at Kim & LaVoy, S.C..  After two years, she rejoined the Milwaukee Public Defender’s Office as a Local Attorney Manager until she was promoted to Deputy First Assisant in the Milwaukee Trial Officein 2018.  She currently she handles all types of criminal cases and enjoys litigating 4th Amendment Motions.  Bridget is also an Adjunct Professor at Marquette University Law School where she has taught both Trial Advocacy 1 and the Public Defender  Workshop .  She has been an Adjunct Professor since 2009.

Along with her work teaching at the Wisconsin State Public Defenders’ Trial Skills Academy, Bridget has taught on the faculty at Faubush (Kentucky Public Advocates Trial Program) and the New Jersey Public Defender’s Trial Program.  Bridget is also on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College.  Bridget spoke for NACDL in Washington D.C. 2016 at the Fall Seminar on “Close Encounters of the Worst Kind.”  Bridget also spoke for NACDL in Boston 2017 at the Fall Seminar on “Defending the Client that Defense Himsellf.”  Bridget also presented at the Florida Public Defender’s Conference in November 2017 and the West Virginia Public Defender's Office in June 2018..
