Biography

Jay A. Gold, MD, JD, MPH, is Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of MetaStar, Inc., where he has worked for 25 years. Dr. Gold received his MD from Texas A&M, his JD from New York University, and his MPH from Harvard.  He is a certified diplomate in Preventive Medicine/Public Health and in Legal Medicine.  He currently serves on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Marquette Law School (since 2004), and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.  He has served as Executive Director and Governor of the American College of Legal Medicine, whose publication Legal Medicine Perspectives he edited for a decade. He also has served on the full-time faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin and of the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, and as Assistant Attorney General of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Gold has served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Medical Society since 2005 and currently is the Society’s Vice Speaker.

Dr. Gold has written, lectured, and consulted widely about health care law, ethics, quality, and policy.
