Biography

Michelle Fitzgerald is an attorney and founder of Horizons Law Group, LLC. She practices family law, including mediation and collaborative law, estate planning including probate and guardianships, and residential real estate. Michelle is an active member of the Waukesha Bar Association, and the Association for Women Lawyers (AWL), and past volunteer at the House of Peace Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, and former member and chair of the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau. Michelle was also a past Milwaukee Public School high school mathematics and computer science teacher before attending law school.  

Michelle is a 2000 graduate of Marquette University Law School, and obtained her undergraduate degree from UW-Madison. Michelle was listed in M Magazine's 2015 Leading Lawyer edition, and was a 2011 award recipient of the 2011 Women in the Law award from the Wisconsin Law Journal.  Michelle was quoted extensively in the April 2006 edition of Today's Wisconsin Women magazine on issues adult children face in caring for their aging parents as well as in an earlier article in the Wisconsin Law Journal regarding unbundled (a la carte) legal services. Michelle enjoys educating her clients in addition to her representation. Horizons Law Group was started in 2000 as Legal Horizons, offering unbundled (or coaching) services to clients in addition to traditional legal services. Michelle continues this practice today as well as her full representation cases and mediation services out of her Brookfield office.
