On Thursday, October 17, 2019, the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its creation in 1989.  The celebration will begin with a discussion on The Future of Collegiate Athletics with Jack Ford, Emmy and Peabody Award-winning broadcast journalist, CBS News Correspondent for “60 Minutes Sports,” host of “Metro Focus” on PBS (WNET-New York), Co-Founder and Chief Anchor of the digital network American Ed TV, visiting lecturer, Yale University, and consultant for the NCAA.  Led by NSLI Director Prof. Paul Anderson, the discussion will focus on issues within collegiate athletics of particular interest to Marquette Sports Law Program students.  The discussion will begin at 5:30 pm in the Lubar Center.

A reception celebrating the 30th anniversary of the National Sports Law Institute will follow the discussion.  The reception will begin at approximately 6:30 pm and last until 8 pm.  All Sports Law Program students, alumni, faculty and members of the NSLI's Board of Advisors are invited to attend the discussion and reception, and may arrive at any time during the festivities. All attendees, who have not already received one, will receive a bobblehead commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Institute, created by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
