Scott Idleman
Biography
Prior to joining the faculty in 1995, Professor Idleman held a teaching fellowship at Stanford Law School and served as clerk to the Honorable Bruce M. Selya of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He teaches constitutional law, federal Indian law, law and religion, and a seminar on advanced constitutional law. In the past, he has taught federal courts, military law, and natural resources law as well as seminars on constitutional extremism and law and music. Professor Idleman's articles have appeared in the Cornell, Notre Dame, University of Pennsylvania, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Law Reviews, and most recently he is the author (with Boris I. Bittker and Frank S. Ravitch) of Religion and the State in American Law (Cambridge Univ. Press 2015). His areas of scholarly interest include law and religion, federal jurisdiction, and federal Indian law.
