Biography

Eric Liberatore joined Marquette University Law School in June 2026 as the Assistant Director of Student Success and an Assistant Teaching Professor. He is currently appointed as a Public Member of the Governor of Wisconsin’s Pardon Advisory Board and will serve as an Associate Editor for the ABA Young Lawyers Division’s Editorial and Content Board during the 2026–27 bar year, having held a similar role in 2023–24.

Prior to joining Marquette Law, Eric was an Assistant Professor-Educator in the University of Cincinnati’s Law and Paralegal Studies program, teaching undergraduate courses like Administrative Litigation and Legal Research & Writing. He also served in the Office of the Governor of Wisconsin as Pardons Counsel and was a Supervising Attorney in Disability Rights Wisconsin’s Public Benefits Program.

As a researcher, Eric co-authored chapters in two editions of Bloomenthal & Wolff’s Emerging Trends in Securities Law, with an emphasis on ESG disclosure frameworks, regulation of cryptocurrency, and general administrative law doctrines. While attending Cornell University’s ILR School, Eric quantitatively investigated responses to workplace inequality and provided research assistance for studies of the discriminatory effects of new technology. In connection with this work, he served as an ad hoc reviewer for Human Resource Management Journal and the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. Eric’s other graduate school roles at Cornell included teaching assistantships in Sociology and Organizational Behavior; at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he worked as a Statistics TA and was the Deputy Submissions Editor for the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society.

After receiving a Gressman & Pollitt Oral Advocacy Award and winning the Heffernan Appellate Advocacy Competition as a law student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at UW-Madison, Eric enjoys serving as a moot court judge and competition brief grader. He previously volunteered as a clemency lawyer, as Head Site Coordinator for a VITA clinic, in client services at a food pantry, and with two organizations supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence.

In addition to a J.D., Eric holds an M.S. in Management—Strategic Leadership from New England College and a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Bridgewater State University.
