For our final huddle of the semester the November huddle will cover questions related to Thanksgiving Break, finals, and winter break.
Our first topic will look at how to decide whether or not to go home for Thanksgiving break or not. This is a question many students struggle with because of how close Thanksgiving is to finals. However, sometimes going home right before finals can be a good mental health refresher and way to remember why you went to law school.
Our second topic will look at finals. For this topic we will look at how to prepare, how to reflect on midterms and how to adjust or further your approach. Additionally, we will look at the format of finals, how many days students have between exams and how to use their time during the final exam period to continue the idea of a good work life balance.
The final topic will look at winter break and what students should be thinking about and doing during this time. Sarah and I will encourage the 2L and 3L leaders to talk about using this time to relax but also consider the job search process which Career Planning Services will have begun walking them through. Winter break is a heavy recruitment period for summer internships and associateships with firms. However, we would like to emphasize that this is not going to make or break a person's law school journey or where their career goes. Rather, we want to encourage students to do what feels best for them and what they need and want.
