On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Marquette's Sports Law Competition Board will host the final round of its Collegiate Athletics Negotiation Competition. The competition will run from 5 pm until 7 pm in room 144. A reception will follow after the final round.
The final round will feature Team 5: Pamela Urlacher and Samantha Mudlaff against Team 10: Chandler Estes and Gretta Yahn. The teams will negotiate a potential brand deal between Ole Miss Senior quarterback, Jaxson Dart, and The Jordan Brand. The negotiation will be argued before a panel of alumni college athletic experts, including -
- Hannah Davis, class of 2022, Coordinator of Enforcement – Analyst, NCAA, Indianapolis, IN
- Ryan Jordan, class of 2018, Director of Compliance, Compliance Services, Stanford University, Stanford, CA
- Zoe Littleton, class of 2022, Assistant Director of Compliance, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH
- Drew Sanchez, class of 2015, Deputy Athletic Director, High Point University, High Point, NC, and
- Michelle Svilpe, class of 2023, Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND
Sports Law Program students are encouraged to come and support their classmates participating in the final round. More specifically,
- First year students interested in participating in the sports law intramural competitions as second years should attend, your actual attendance will be recorded and is a factor in selection for the competitions as 2Ls,
- Second year students who competed in the initial rounds of the competition and hope to be placed on a national team during their third year, should also attend, as this will be a factor as we select national teams next year, and
- Third year students competing in National Sports Law Competitions during the 2024-2025 academic year, are required to attend as part of your placement on a national team.
The winners of the competition will receive an invitation to participate in a National Sports Law Competition during the 2025-2026 academic year. After the final round, the Sports Law Program will host a reception for all attendees.
