Our October huddle will be focused on ramping up for midterms and helping 1Ls get answers to any law school related questions they still have that have not been answered.
To focus on midterms, we will discuss in our small groups what we as leaders did during our 1L to prepare for midterms, how we outlined, whether we studied with a group or not, and any other helpful tricks for exams.
Another topic we will cover is related to big law firm visits and applications. From my understanding and my experience big firms like Husch Blackwell and Reinhart invite 1Ls to happy hours around this time of the school year and into November. To ease their minds we will discuss what these events may look like, how to prepare, and next steps to take following the events.
A final topic in this huddle will be what to do following exams/midterms. Many students, including myself, think that we have to get right back to work as soon as we finish exams. However, this is not a healthy habit. Rather, we will encourage students to do things they enjoy outside of law school and even consider participating in the post midterms SLS Pickleball event.
We will close this session out with a Q&A for students to ask any questions they still have or that have gone unanswered.
