On the Issues: Marquette Law School Poll

Marquette University Law School is pleased to bring you the results of a new statewide poll on Wednesday, September 30, in an in-person event featuring Charles Franklin, professor of law and public policy and director of the Marquette Law School Poll, and Derek Mosley, director of the school’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education.

The program, which will begin at 12:15 p.m. CDT in Eckstein Hall, is free and open to the public. Please register to attend in person or virtually. The program will also be livestreamed on the Law School’s website via the “Watch Now” button for those unable to join us in person. 

The Marquette Law School Poll's September survey of Wisconsin considers the governor's race between Democrat David Crowley and Republican Tom Tiffany, perceptions of candidate and party ideology, and approval of the president, governor, legislature, and state Supreme Court. New this month is an expanded look at data centers and the state's economy, including views on artificial intelligence, the costs and benefits of data centers, desired manufacturing development, business tax incentives, and which party helps business. 

Respondents are also asked about tariffs on Canada and on beef, deporting immigrants living in the country illegally, and effects of tariffs on Wisconsin farmers. A new election-integrity module asks about confidence in the November election, false vote counts, and noncitizen voting. Other items gauge use of prediction markets and polling sites and favorability toward Pete Hegseth. Views of the economy, and the Iran war, are also included.
