On Thursday, November 19th, in response to student requests, Professor Anderson will present a mock class, primarily for 1L students.  He will focus on answering the question of "What is a Sport?" for Title IX purposes.  For example, why can't high schools add football for girls? Why can't colleges add pickelball as a sport, when they just added flag football, though it is only for women?  The discussion will focus on how Title IX assesses and defines sports that can be supported by schools, often excluding activities that some may know as sports. This will be an informal discussion, although Professor Anderson will look for volunteers at times as he attempts to give students a glimpse of what it might be like in one of his Workshops, in particular his "The Impact of Gender Equity on Sports" workshop that he will next teach in the spring 2028 academic semester.  Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
