Transcripts

Many employers that recruit on campus at Marquette Law School require students to include transcripts of their law school records in their application packages. A small number of employers also require transcripts of the student undergraduate records.

Official Transcript vs. Unofficial Transcript

Most all employers will accept an "unofficial" transcript. You should assume an unofficial transcript is satisfactory unless an "official" transcript is requested specifically. A copy of an official transcript is deemed "unofficial."

HOW TO OBTAIN A TRANSCRIPT:

Law School Transcript

  • Unofficial Transcript: You may obtain your unofficial law school transcript as a PDF document from CheckMarq. After downloading the unofficial transcript from CheckMarq, you should upload the transcript to your Symplicity account by doing the following:

    1. Click the circle with your photo (or initials) on the menu bar in the upper right corner of the page.

    2. Click "My Documents" from the options.

    3. Click the dark blue "Add New" button.

    4. Label your transcript.

    5. Select "Unofficial Transcript" for "Document Type".

    6. Click "Choose File" and select the PDF of your transcript.

    7. Click the dark blue "Submit" button.

  • Official Transcript:  An official law school transcript can be obtained only from the Office of the Registrar (Zilber Hall). The fee for regular service (processed within three business days) is $7 per transcript, with expedited processing available for additional fees. For more information and to make an online transcript request, go to the Requesting Transcripts page on the Marquette University website.

Undergraduate Transcript

The Law School cannot provide of copies of undergraduate transcripts. An official undergraduate transcript (copies of which are deemed unofficial) must be obtained directly from your undergraduate institution. Please consult your undergraduate institution for the proper procedure for obtaining a transcript. IMPORTANT: When uploading an undergraduate transcript to Symplicity, select "Other Documents" for "Document Type", NOT "Unofficial Transcript".
