Biography

Prior to joining the full-time faculty, Melissa Love Koenig was a civil litigator in private practice. She also taught Legal Writing and Research 2 at Marquette University Law School in the spring 2004 semester as an adjunct professor. Before entering private practice, Professor Love Koenig was a law clerk to the Honorable N. Patrick Crooks, Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Professor Love Koenig received her B.A., cum laude, from Wellesley College in 1995 and her J.D., cum laude, from Marquette University Law School in 1999.  At the Law School, she is a co-director of the Moot Court program and advises a National Moot Court Competition team and the William B. Spong Tournament teams.  She received the Milwaukee Association of Women Lawyers Community Involvement Award in 2013 for her work on the Summer Youth Institute at Marquette Law School, and she is the past chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin's Appellate Practice Section. She is a co-author of The Moot Court Advisor's Handbook and Law and Rhetoric: A Primer (forthcoming publication).
