On Friday, October 17, 2025, the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School will host its 36th annual fall conference - Resolving International Sports Disputes & Analyzing Collegiate Athletics Post House. The conference will be in two parts that follow each other:
- The first part will focus on international sports including a presentation on the workings of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, a panel on Resolving International Sports Disputes reflecting on the United States hosting international sports events like the World Cup and Summer Olympics, and how athlete disputes will be resolved. This track will include the presentation of the 2026 Master of the Game Award to Michael Lenard, OLY. The Master of the Game Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the sports industry and who exemplifies the highest level of professionalism in his or her field.
- The second part will focus on the current climate within collegiate athletics post the House v. NCAA settlement providing an overview of the settlement and the current state of college athletics, and its impact on Olympic sports, international student athletes, and female athletes given Title IX and other recent challenges.
Check in for attendees will begin at 11 am Central time, with the conference welcome at @11:50 am. The program will then run from 12 pm until @6 pm, in the Lubar Center on the first floor of Eckstein Hall, the home of Marquette University Law School.
The National Sports Law Institute will apply for @5 Wisconsin CLE credits from the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners for this program. See below for further information on conference participants, the recommended conference hotel, and further information on CLE credit.

- LOCATION: The conference will take place in the Lubar Center on the first floor of Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53201. (Take virtual tour here).
- PARKING: All attendees, except for Marquette University Law School students, can park in the law school's 11th street lot (P2), underneath the Law School, and entering from 11th street at no charge.
Conference Hotel Recommendation
The National Sports Law Institute recommends that guests consider staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Milwaukee Downtown, blocks from the Law School for their conference visit.
Continuing Legal Education Credit for Lawyers
The National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School will seek approval for @5 Wisconsin CLE credits for this event. The Institute cannot guarantee the receipt of any CLE credit for any attorney for this event as decisions on awarding credit comes only from the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners or the applicable CLE approval body in the state the individual attorney is seeking credit from. Attendees seeking CLE credit from other states can receive additional information from the Institute that may assist with such applications, but the Institute will not complete out of state applications for any individual attorney. Attendees interested in receiving CLE credit must remain for the entire event.
