Alumni Mock Interview Program Symplicity Quick Guide

Students using Symplicity in connection with the Alumni Mock Interview Program (AMIP) should follow these steps:

  1. ACCESS SYMPLICITY.   Visit Symplicity and log in using your personal username and password.   
     
  2. UPLOAD YOUR RÉSUMÉ.  Make sure that you have an up-to-date copy of your résumé uploaded on Symplicity. To upload your résumé, follow the steps below. IMPORTANT: Résumés must conform to the legal résumé standards set forth in the Legal Résumé Guide and be approved by the Career Planning Center following a one-on-one review with a member of the CPC professional staff. If the CPC approved a previous version of your résumé, it need not be formally approved again. The CPC reserves the right to remove from consideration résumés that do not meet legal résumé standards.
    1. Click "Documents" on the menu bar on the left side of the page.
    2. Click "Add New".
    3. Give your document a name in the "Label" field.
    4. Select “Resume” for Document Type. 
    5. Click "Choose File" to select the appropriate document you wish to upload. 
    6. Click "Submit."  After your résumé has been uploaded you can view it as a PDF file.
       
  3. SIGN UP FOR AN INTERVIEW. There are a limited number of interview slots and signup will be first-come, first-served.
    1. Click "OCI" on the menu bar on the top right of the page.
    2. From the "Session" drop-down menu select "AMIP 2023". 
    3. You will see only one “employer” listed: “Alumni Mock Interview Program.”  In the "Interview Dates" column, click a date to view available interview slots for that day. [Ignore the "Bidding Deadline" column, including the date in that column.]
    4. Select an interview time from the listed available time slots. The interviewers are identified under "Schedule Details".  Each student will interview with a single interviewer. A slot will disappear from the list of interview times once it is selected by a student. 
    5. If you have multiple versions of your resume uploaded to Symplicity, select from the "Resume" drop-down menu the version you wish to submit.
    6. Click "Signup." 
       
  4. TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW. You have the option to cancel or reschedule your interview on Symplicity up to approximately 5 days prior to the interview date by following the steps below. To cancel/reschedule an interview closer to your interview, notify the Career Planning Center (CPC). Please provide as much notice to the CPC as possible, but no less than 48 hours in advance of the interview except in the case of an emergency. Do NOT contact the interviewer.
    1. Click "OCI" on the menu bar on the top right of the page.
    2. From the "Session" drop-down menu select "AMIP 2023".
    3. Click "Scheduled Interviews".
    4. Place your cursor over the date of the interview (e.g., Aug 01, 2023) then click the link.
    5. Click "Cancel Interview".
