Print, Copy, Scan, Fax

Service notice: Members of the Marquette University community with an active MU ID can use that card to print, copy, and scan. All others must seek assistance from a member of the law library staff during service hours to request a card to print or copy. In lieu of printing, we strongly encourage you to use a personal USB flash drive or upload to personal storage in the cloud.

Self-service print/copy/scan/fax PrintWise devices are located on the first through fourth floors near the library stacks. View the map for locations. For color copies or printing, use the PrintWise device on the fourth floor.

Self-service print/scan/copy/fax PrintWise devices are activated by tapping an MU ID card. Cards are debited $.07 for black and white printing/copying ($.10 double-sided) and $.50 for color ($.96 double-sided). There are no coin operated machines available in the law library.

Personal USB flash drive devices, or storing to the cloud, may be used in lieu of copying or printing when appropriate.

MU ID card holders

Students may print, copy, scan, or fax materials at any of the five networked print/copy/scan/fax PrintWise devices in the law library using their MU Student ID cards. Law students are allocated $14/semester ($7/summer) for print/copy/scan (200 black & white pages) through PrintWise, a campus-wide printing service. Additional funds may be added to an ID card online or by visiting Card Services at Union Station (Alumni Memorial Union, Rm. 158).

Non- MU ID card holders

Library visitors and law library card holders should seek assistance during law library service hours to print from the computers in the reference area or to use a PrintWise device to copy. The law library accepts cash (small denominations only, please) or check. There is no ATM in Eckstein Hall. We strongly encourage visitors and law library card holders to upload to personal storage in the cloud or to capture images using a smart phone.

See service notice above. The options in this paragraph do not currently allow printing or copying based on changes to PrintWise, but are retained here should capabilities change. Law library card holders may use their library card to make copies and add funds online. Alternatively, law library card holders can visit Union Station (Alumni Memorial Union, Rm. 158), to add funds (minimum $1.00) to their library card and make payment at that time by cash, check or credit/debit card.

The microfiche collection includes select legislative history materials for the State of Wisconsin on the first floor, and for the United States government and additional materials on the fourth floor. (Some, but not all, of the material on fiche is also available through alternative means, including in select databases.)

Microfiche readers are located on the first and fourth floors.  Visitors are encouraged to save to personal storage in the cloud or to bring a personal USB flash drive to download scans at no cost. Printing is also available for those with Marquette credentials through the University's PrintWise system.
